The fact that North Iraq – Turkey relations, which has made a significant progress in the recent years, develops also in the commercial terms causes Turkey to be viewed as a gate opening to the world in terms of economy. The trade with Turkey exceeding annually 15 billion dollars has rendered Erbil, in particular, a Turkish city, so to say. In this context, setting off the road for the purpose of further developing the relations, the ANESIAD envoy made a series of business interviews from 31st May to 3rd June in Erbil, Suleymaniyah and Dohuk, as well as realizing a three-day program including visits to the chambers of commerce and industry.

Calling on the Turkish businessmen to make trade in the region, Kılavuz stated: "We organized and brought here our businessmen from Anatolia, from Malatya, Gaziantep and Istanbul, with a view to make investments, opening branch offices, founding companies and developing the current commerce in the cities of Erbil, Dohuk and Suleymaniyah. Thus we had the opportunity to get more familiar to the industry and trading volume of this region. The fact that this region is safer in comparison to the Middle-East has increased its attractiveness. We saw that investors come here and found big companies with inner peace."."
Expressing that they have had the chance to come together with the region’s businessmen, Kılavuz stated: "We, as the Association, wanted to make North Iraq feel the power of middle-class businessmen of Turkey. We attracted here a great deal of attention. In this framework, I am of the opinion that we took good steps for the future in terms of commerce and industry. We will go on our commercial visits to the region."
